Might I inquire as to why FSM Online has not even deigned to review Joel McNeely's fun score for A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST? (Especially while running a four star review for Richard Band's SHIVER, an obscure score if ever there was one.)
In consecutive months they DID run features based on the score (a piece on director MacFarlane and a piece on McNeely) - so it's not like they ignored the thing entirely.
Do you really think it's temp love in this case, though? It seems like all the references to classic western scores were all intentional. You could maybe call it "pastiche" but it's not like McNeely is pretending that the music is wholly original and without precedent.
