I think someone will re-release it at some point. I think a 2-disc edition would be sufficient in the future. I thought the 3rd disc was overkill/filler and I never play it. It is a fantastic release though and the Williams score is bloody great.

I can see why it was a 3x CD affair. It's pivotal in the career of John Williams and the release celebrated that. Aside from Kritzerland's recent 3-fers, you won't find anyone thinking of a 3x CD release of any kind in this climate. At least, I don't think you will.
But things were different when GMC was conceived and released under the FSM label. I wouldn't mind at all going back to that sense of optimism prevailing when it was put together. I wouldn't mind at all.
Edit: Disc 3 includes Tomorrow With Me, and it was remiss of me not to mention Leslie Bricusse. The Bricusse/Williams double-act couldn't possibly be contained on anything less.
