For the DDJ series' summer release, our arrow is aimed at the target whose name belongs to a Maestro very dear to us: Nico Fidenco. CANDIDO EROTICO is a movie with a titillating story, directed in 1978 by Claudio Giorgi and featuring the sexy Italian star Lilly Carati, who was very active in the ‘70s and ‘80s. The score by Maestro Fidenco was arranged and conducted by Giacomo Dell'Orso and makes for an easy-listening experience, with one of the main themes revolving around the song 'A Devious Man.'

With a groovy cocktail vibe, the album evokes the seaside with a light offshore breeze and chaise lounge partly immersed in still, crystal-clear water: relaxation personified through music.

The CD is released in a jewel case featuring a 12-page booklet with liner notes (in Italian and English) by Fabio Babini, mastering by Enrico De Gemini and graphic design by Alessio Iannuzzi. Limited edition.

QUESTO SI CHE E’ AMORE (LAST TOUCH OF LOVE) was directed in 1978 by Filippo Ottoni and starred Christopher George, Gay Hamilton, Laura Trotter and Sven Valsecchi. It tells the story of a terminally-ill young boy who is forced to live in a hospital and of his gesture of love that will bring his parents together again at the cost of his own life.

A movie in the tear-jerker genre—which was very popular at the time—the score was composed by a Maestro very dear to Beat Records: Stelvio Cipriani, who created a score with deep emotional impact. Great main titles with disco music sonorities and a lengthy, moving, melodic score that included a song recorded exclusively for the movie by Sven Valsecchi, who played the ill-fated young protagonist. The status quo is easily surpassed by the monumental and iconic Roman composer Stelvio Cipriani.

The CD is released in a jewel case, with mastering and liner notes (in Italian and English) by Claudio Fuiano and graphic design by Alessio Iannuzzi. Limited edition of 500 copies.

On July 20, 2013, Franco De Gemini passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness. One year after his loss, the publishing group he administered for nearly half a century wants to remember him through a box set that will feature some of his most beautiful, important and meaningful performances. Starting from the end with the last cue ever played in his presence, we make available again an album recorded in the ‘70s entitled L’UOMO DI RAME (THE COPPER MAN), featuring the music for a holy “field” purpose—in other words, performed with small instruments, easy to carry and apt for improvising the religious function for the “Boy Scout” corps, an organization in which the young Ferraran artist participated. L’UOMO DI RAME is not just sacred music but portrays a great array of emotions and feelings, where the solo harmonica performed by Franco De Gemini imbues the proceedings with great humanity.

It’s a beautiful, moving album crowned by a wonderful Ave Maria in various versions sung by soprano Cinzia Alessandroni and contralto Stella Salvati.

Music by Sergio Montori, orchestra conducted by Elvio Monti, this is the first in a long series of releases dedicated to one of the most important Italian film music performers of the twentieth century.

The album is released in slim jewel case featuring a picture disc, external OBI and a maxi inlay card with cover artwork by Andrea Clanetti featuring special memories dedicated to Franco De Gemini inside.

IL MONDO DEI ROMANI is one of Maestro Umiliani's most atypical sound library/synch albums, recorded in 1972 during a period of great electronic experimentation (partly because of production reasons, partly responding to an immense desire to express his creative skills). Unique in his discography, the album joins paradigmatic Roman classicism with the most genuine electronic experimentation, which in some parts reminds us of Kraftwerk. It's a beautiful addition to the DDJ-S series as well as a great follow-up to the electro-synch sonorities of TRA SCIENZA E FANTASCIENZA (previously-released on CD by Beat and still available).

The CD is presented in the typical format of the series, in a slim jewel case featuring a picture disc and a maxi inlay card that reproduces the original album cover art.
