I was going to link the thread started by "First Breath" last year about the Ridley Scott film, but I saw some of the words in the link.

I am definitely too much of a neurotic, plaid-and-khaki-wearing nebbish (that's twice in two posts I've used that word: "nebbish") to watch the video you mention. However, given what that video apparently contains, I wonder why you and Montana Dave are so interested in "current events."

it does look like something that would scurry away to hide in the shadows and return in a morphed form to victimize the unwary ... and doesn't taste much like its origins

I don’t find it repulsive but I do get the imagery.
If you were serving it for dinner and your guests were hesitant you could always tell them that it didn't come out of anyone they knew.

If you’ve eaten chicken, you’ve eaten that goo, but it was liquefied. Seems like it might be good for camping. However $20 for a 3-pound chicken seems a bit high and I would imagine it’s already been overcooked to provide adequate storage safety as it’s likely some will be too lazy to heat it first.

I'm with Jim Phelps on this.

Pointless for me to watch it.

I don't think it's a video. It looked like just 2 still photos to me... unless there was a button to click on that I simply didn't see.

Canned chicken has been around for ages. Yes, it's a little on the unattractive side (especially with the excess gelatin/gravy goo), but if you were starving in the middle of a war you wouldn't give scarfing it down a second thought. Just look at the way Charles Bronson went for it in "The Twilight Zone". He even beat down Elizabeth Montgomery to get it.

This would make an awesome entree at a gross-out dinner party, removed from the can while at the table, of course.

I could have seen it again, probably at bargain prices, if I went to see this high school stage production.

What is cool about it is that they made sets and costumes out of re-used/discarded materials.

Yeah, I've heard about that show. What a neat idea, and how cool that Weaver 'cheers on'.

I see ALIEN at least once ever year, and have done so for decades. Probably seen it around 60-70 times by now.

I reckon it just tastes like many canned meats. They all have a certain taste. I don't mind corned beef, 'Pek' chopped ham and pork, or at a pinch dear old Spam.

On this occasion the best you can hope for David, if you should throw caution to the wind and try it, is that it doesn't burst out of your chest!

I think it's the giant sucking sound that it makes when it leaves the can that gives me the willies.

Speaking of things that look and sound gross when they come out of the can....
