I'm glad Ron Howard has branched out from using his regular composers. I'm interested to hear what Roque can do with the material. IN THE HEART OF THE SEA is an amazing story and I recommend it to everyone here. Unless you're squeamish about cannibalism... and I know you guys aren't.

That short little taste of Banos' melancholic theme was enough to hook me. Cannot wait for this score and I'm so glad he's getting more work. Solid composer.

I am one of those old farts who is as blasé about new composers as can be. But one steps up and separates himself from the crowd I can't help take notice. Desplat was one Roque Baños is another. Well said!

Geez I didn't even hear the first clip. Sounds beautiful. I'm hoping this will be a great film with some Oscar potential.

I'm very happy for Roque! I have the honor to know him personally, and he's an amazing human being.

Can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting him (yet - hopefully someday!), but I too love his work and am so glad he's landed a project that will bring Hollywood recognition. Not only meeting him, but I have the honor to have worked with Roque, one of the greatest moments of my life!

Please do tell! In what capacity? I served as his translator and assistant on the recording sessions of his score "La Daga de Rasputin". As I said, one of the greatest and most pleasant moments of my life. BTW, this score is amazing, with big orchestra and choir, and it is a real pitty it was not released on CD. The recording was made with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, and Roque conducting.

The recording was made with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, and Roque conducting. Wow, that's awesome! Given that most everything he's written has seen some sort of release, I'm surprised to hear about this nugget slipping through the cracks. Perhaps Quartet or the like will rescue it from obscurity? It appears to have barely been released at all anywhere - almost no info online for it anywhere. It was directed by an actor who has appeared in a few Banos-scored films (Common Wealth, a few Torrente films). Any idea why the film appears to have been kept in a vacuum? Did the production company fold while in post or something? Couldn't even find any reviews online anywhere. There are apparently a few sound clips on his website, but they won't seem to load for me (whereas others on his site load fine): http://www.roquebanos.es/v2/index.php?seccion=detalle_obras&id_pelicula=51&set_lang=eng
