This has been bothering me for years. There was a 1967 animated TV series called THE HERCULOIDS. I remember, as a kid, a song that opened the show. All video releases of episodes have a totally different opening that is unfamiliar to me.

Here is a YouTube link of the alternate opening music I remember, although the vocals are not there:

When doing research on this, I found that there was a song used in a CBS promo for the show, but I find it hard to believe that my nine-year-old mind would remember lyrics from a single promo. At some point this sung theme must have been used on the show itself, or how would a nine-year-old mind remember the words? The lyric "Somewhere in the future... live the Herculoids!" appeared several times (0:04, 0:22, 0:47) - you can hear this line clearly spelled out in the melody. As I recall, the other lyrics spoke of the different characters and their exploits. At 0:45, I remember only the end of a line of the lyric, "...and energy rocks," before leading back into the "Somewhere in the future" line once again. Does ANYONE have that fully sung version? I'd pay good money to get it.

I have never heard one with lyrics of any kind but what you have is clearly a replacement theme that may have been used in syndication at some point. It does sound familiar. But the true original theme should be on the DVD set released by Warner Archives.

Isn't that the opening to the 'Space Stars' segment of The Herculoids from 1982?

A lot of the visuals shown in the clip you provided the link for were definitely not in the original 1967 series.
