years ago i heard a soundtrack to the first mighty ducks film,
a kind of synthy, of the time type affair with samples and vocal triggers,
i got it from a friend on loan and it was a legitimate release on cd, but not the one
that has lots of various artists on it, this was all one composer
but attempts to track it down have proved fruitless, its like i imagined it,
if anyone has heard or knows anything about it lemme know,
it had around 10 tracks and was pretty good i rememember.

It was never released commercially. What you heard was either a promo disc, (If that exists) or an unmentionable. Fun little score. Hope Intrada releases it someday.

One of David Newman's worst temp track jobs. Bummer.

There never was an "official" promo CD but there were many CDRs that Newman sent out.

I love the score. The temp job is obvious but Newman managed to create a wonderful original score based on the obvious temp suggestions. The powerful MAIN TITLE based on GRAND CANYON and the energetic PLAYOFF MONTAGE based on ROBIN HOOD are simply terrific, moving and creative pieces.
Please INTRADA release MIGHTY DUCKS.

I go back and forth between loving the score and harumphing it. I must have been 14 or 15 when I first heard it and the only temp track I recognized then was FIELD OF DREAMS. I didn't really care otherwise. Now I often cringe - the main title hit me the hardest because I loved that cue the most and then I heard GRAND CANYON - but still find myself drawn in by Newman's skill with the orchestra in the hockey sequences. If/when Intrada releases this, I'd think long and hard about it.

But you're right. Bummer.
