I couldn't help myself JohnMullin. I just wanted to have one last fling with the N-word before they're restricted. Carry on. wink

The N - word is hurtful and evocative of years of hatred toward Noobs everywhere. You should be ashamed. wink

The N-word is perfectly fine when it's used by OP's.

Can you help me find the post where I said the word "new" should be "restricted"? I think my main point was that I was trying to get people to title release threads in a way that makes it more clear what they're talking about. Sinister, I know.

And let the record show, your honor, that historically, I have not been in favor of restricting anything or silencing anyone on this board. I've never blocked a single member on this board and I never will. I've even stuck up for people that the board has collectively decided to gang up on and pummel.

I won't act like I'm not a little shocked / hurt by people acting like such dicks about this, but I stand by the point of my original point: This is a forum built primarily on words (with the occasional animated gif)... Shouldn't we be using them clearly?

I'm sorry you feel hurt by the jesting. Please don't take it personally (though I can see how it would be hard not to). People are just having a bit of fun with the concept. It's what we do. But as to your point, it makes sense. It is annoying to open a newly appearing thread titled "NEW: Goldsmith's Sebastian" and find it's however many years old. Certainly something labels can take into consideration in the future should they feel so inclined.

But it's not the labels who are doing that type of posting, it's Jason LeBlanc and others. Honestly, it makes sense to just put the date of the release instead of "NEW." That's the way other boards I visit do things (sometimes before and sometimes after the title and artist).

How about instead of saying New. Just put the date of the release for example.

I assume I am one of the "dicks" being addressed. The point I was making is that a message board is amorphous and ever changing. So even if you got everybody (old and new) to do this one thing (which you can't) the amount of clarity that would be brought to the situation would be minute. You would have to also get EVERYBODY to adhere to many of the suggestions by others also made to really make a dent.

If the title is the Intrada BLUE MAX instead of the New Intrada BLUE MAX you still don't know which one it is.

And the other more important part is being hurt by all this silliness. I am forever referring people to past threads on the subject they might bring up a second time, but it isn't anything personal to me when they ignore it or even put out another thread on the same subject right after. I cannot control this board. Most people follow reasonable behavior, others try to do the right thing and other REALLY couldn't care less. So sorry I found your suggestion not very practical and did some mild humor to show why.
