SHARKNADO 2: THE NEXT ONE---the Syfy sequel drew 3.9 million viewers which made it Syfy's highest-rated original movie ever. The original movie had 1.4 million viewers.
THE HUNTSMAN---prequel to SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN is underway with Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron returning. It "expands to reveal how the fates of two characters, The Huntsman Eric and Ravenna, intersected before they met Snow White." Frank Darabont (THE WALKNG DEAD) is the director. Premiere is April 22, 2016.
STONEHEARST ASYLUM---poster released for the movie based on Edgar Allen Poe's short story "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether". The plot involves a recent medical school graduate who takes a job at an asylum and discovers the staff isn't what it appears to be. Kate Beckinsale, Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley star.
AVENGERS---director James Gunn commented on an Avengers crossover with the Guardians of the Galaxy, "We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But we do inhabit the same universe and they're pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other."
EXTRATERRESTRIAL---horror movie in which five college friends are staying in a remote cabin when a UFO crashes nearby. Soon they are under siege by the alien invaders who abduct them for horrific experiments. Brittany Allen and Gil Bellows star.
SOUL REVIVER---US live-action remake of the Japanese manga is underway. The plot involves two soul revivers who retrieve the dead and return them to Earth so they can fulfill their missions. Edward Zwick (THE LAST SAMURAI) is the director.
UNDATEABLE--NBC renewed the series for Season 2.
BOJACK HORSEMAN---Netflix animated series starring Will Arnett which is set in Los Angeles where people and anthropomorphic animal/people coexist. BoJack is a down-on-his-luck horseman and former 1990s sitcom star.
