I love both seasons of the series and the music. I'm thrilled season two has gotten such a grand release. "Time of the Hawk" is not only my favorite episode of the run it's my favorite score as well. Beautiful work by Broughton (as all of his work for this series) and I prefer it to "The Satyr.". Also of note is "Journey to Oasis" by John Cacavas. Such a wonderful piece of work for a middling episode. It's spooky, adventuresome and very touching. "The Guardians" by Broughton is also fantastic as is Stu Phillips' "Hand of the Goral." Really solid dramatic scoring on his part. This is my first real listen to Herbert Woods' work and it also really fine. There's nothing on this set I don't like. I love the jazzy/pop feel of season one and that album is to die for. So is this. The more serious epic feel of some episodes makes for a wonderful listening experience. I am beyond happy about this release.

I recently purchased this disk set and enjoy it a lot. However I was curious if anyone could help me to get the track listing to show up in Windows Media Player 12. Since the CD data isn't available on WMPs online database for this disk yet, all that shows up is that the tracks & disks are "unknown". I-Tunes players has the titles, but it is probably pulling the CD text off of the disk, maybe? For season 1's disk I had to manually type out the titles which was a little tedious. 4 CDs is a little too much. Thanks for any assistance and happy listening.

It's a shame "The Mark of the Surian" was left off, the only episode missing. Since it wasn't mentioned in the liner notes, I'm assuming it's because of space or tape availability. I would also love to know if there's a story behind the "Journey to Oasis" end credits music since it's not on the DVD set. Again, probably just an "unused" cue, but there ya go. I am enjoying the hell out of this set. The closing moments of the "Spires of Oasis" cue has always been one of my favorites (the last minute is just so amazing). It is so packed full of emotion, it's a perfect example of music elevating the filmed material. It's really very touching and sad. These isn't a bad score in the bunch. Another "Holy Grail" checked off...

Perhaps. However, the finale to the Buck vs Hawk fight scene is missing from "Time of the Hawk" as well (where an exhausted Buck and Hawk trade punch for punch before being rendered unconscious by the robed old man), so it could have been financial.

And I want the pilot. Is there much heard in the pilot score that was not included in the movie soundtrack?
