Perseverance Records: upcoming the holy grail score from the 80's had to be delayed to the next year but trust me it's well worth the wait...

Honestly,
I hate reading this tease over and over...
Especially after the SLIPSTREAM debockle.
I look forward to it, but stop saying "trust me"!

The most Holy Grail-related "Holy Grail" score from the 80s would be Excalibur, wouldn't it?

Some releases take time not only because of rights issues, but because other varying reasons. We've seen Intrada state before some releases taking eight years or even ten years. It took a few years, for example, from the time of the Bernstein box of rejected scores coming being leaked, to when it actually came up for sale.

Patience can be a virture.

Well, to be fair to Intrada, the difference is they didn't announce it over and over and over again. They did their work, and when it was ready then they announced it. There's a reason labels don't announce way in advance or before they know something is ready.

To be REALLY fair to Intrada, wasn't the "Bernstein box of rejected scores" (Gangs of New York, etc.) a VARESE Club release?

To be REALLY fair, I assumed the poster was actually referring to the AVA box, since he said Intrada. I'm sure you get the point, though, really I am.

Was the Intrada AVA box promoted for a long time before it actually was released? I don't always keep up on the announcements of new releases so didn't know there was some kind of history behind this.

Justin's point is simply that Intrada once mentioned how projects can take many years after starting them to become realized, and he used Varese's rejected Bernstein set as an example of that.

Are you just responding to posts without reading the point of the thread??? No, the AVA box was not promoted at ALL until it was released. That is the POINT. Perseverance (I can't believe I'm having to restate this again) has been talking about this Holy Grail release for heaven knows how long, and then keep not announcing it.

'Member this, gang? I was playing Perseverance ' Puppet Master set a bit tonight, and recalled there was a long, long in the making grail to end all that was to materialize. ...in fact, aside from the recent (thank you!!!) Fright Night song album, what is this label up to? I always dug Robin's work and thoroughness - read the producers notes on The Runestone for an indication....

Yeah... it's been a while since they did anything noteworthy... probably last one is the Slipstream mess up and that defective mastering of Corigliano's Edge of Darkness...
