Can't wait to see how he senselessly plays multiple cues overlapped ontop one another for no apparent good reason and remixes the score beyond recognition!
Everything after Season of the Witch is painfully bad, IMO. The Halloween theme in guitar is just god-awful. I don't know how anyone can stand any music from this series after the sublime 3rd installment. In fact, I'm not sure how anyone can stand any film from this series after 3.
I know halloween 2 had suites A-F that i wasn´t a fan of but otherwise the CD was OK, Halloween 3-4 did they sound different than the original CD released back in the day? I have them, but haven´t taken the time to compare them from the original CD/LP
Love Howarths work otherwise and hopes he will revisit his score to Retribution someday
So the score to the theatrical cut on disc 2 is from the album master instead of the film master b/c a lot of the cues sound like they could be album mixes. The electric guitar riffs in the film were heavier and the stinger (the one that opens the film) that's constantly used throughout the picture (during fancy edits and such) is also absent. I wonder why they didn't include the film mix of certain cues. A pity none of 'em were included.
Are there any tracks from the original release that are not included in this release. I own both but haven't listened to the original in many years. I am re-ripping much of my collection (at a higher bit rate using EAC as opposed to iTunes) and don't want to waste my time ripping doubles.
