With the recent release of "The In-Laws" soundtrack (thank you, La-La Land!!!!), does anyone know if anymore John Morris scores are in the works? There are so many of them that need to be released.

Not to be too hyperbolic, but releases of SILENT MOVIE (complete score + LP program) and HIGH ANXIETY would well be worth a limb.

I've not heard any rumors or any official words. But here is a listing of things I'd like to hear/get:

"Fresno" (two episodes mini series with an excellent orchestra score)

"Bingo" (rejected score; Richard Gibbs did the final)

LLLR's already took care of two of my wants ("Clue" and "Spaceballs"). I need to smaple more of his work.

Smaple away! Oh! And please re-issue Spaceballs which is maddeningly difficult to secure a copy of. Perhaps the 27th Anniversary Edition?

I'll just assume all you Morris lovers have Bank Shot. Yes, I'll just assume that.

And then I'll just assume that all you Morris lovers also have his incredible Broadway musical score, A Time for Singing. Yes, I'll just assume that.

In the words of a character from Morris' first film, assume away!

It is a nice score.

A complete edition of Young Frankenstein would be much apreciated.

I'm with you! I missed out on this release, and it probably won't get another because if I recall correctly LLL had it on pretty deep discount before it went OOP. I like the score a lot, but I don't $70 like the score smile

There had been some hints/talk of a possible Morris/Brooks box set at one point, but that was years ago now and things do change. If it did come out, I would rebuy Blazing Saddles (my third LLL copy!) in a heartbeat if it meant getting all the rest.

I picked that up on Amazon a few months ago. It's a nice stopgap, but it's missing some great pieces - not the least of which is the pop theme song!

DEATHTRAP for me, please!

Okay, but it seems a little too soon to go before we've not had more new CD's...

Probably right next to HIGH ANXIETY and HISTORY OF THE WORLD PART 1.

DEATHTRAP for me, please!

From the way too late department, DEATHTRAP was scored by Johnny Mandel, not John Morris.

A really fine John Morris score worthy of release that I suspect few have even heard...LIFE STINKS (1991). Revisited the movie recently and was struck by how gorgeous the music is. I think Kritzerland or LLL should get on it. wink
