Well, it does diminish the life and death of a person when we use their name in our thread title, and then proceed to talk about filmscores.
Yeah, this guy died- so sad, now let's talk about the score from Flubber, it is just tacky.
I would be less offended and not speak out about this if this was a once in a blue moon thread, but the past year, this has been a very frequent thread about a lot of celebrities that passed away. It is really getting out of hand.
You do release that people will be BUYING and SELLING Robin Williams movies in the aftermath of his death, don't you? Better go on Amazon and scold those people for being "tacky", too.
Just about everyone here knows of Williams and any other celebrity because of their work and it's well within the bounds of good taste to remember the joy they gave us through their films--and the music contained therein. Think of it as a wake and either accept that the majority of people will pay tribute to said performer's work or don't accept it but please, please, PLEASE refrain from judging others for doing it. You're the one who looks "tacky."

It is the height of score fan supernerd bottlecapism, and Robin Williams has nothing to do with the scores. The best score ever in a Robin Williams starring movie still has nothing to do with the man, nor does it help me infer, learn or appreciate anything about him.

i love Morricones unused Dreams score but a much played cd for me was the song compilation from Good morning vietnam. it always made me think of williams impressions of the guy from the Artillery - who was deaf ! - and his walter kronkite with the weather - "yesterday was hot and shitty"
