Solid performer, just about everywhere in TV during the 50s, 60s and 70s. Sorry to hear of his passing. It's been a bad week in the entertainment business.

Yeah, Ed Nelson was always great anything he was in...RIP...:-(
Ed Nelson may not be as well known as Bacall and Williams but he was a solid performer and well respected by peers and well loved by fans , especially for his 5 years as Dr Michael Rossi on PEYTON PLACE .
I've been discovering PEYTON PLACE lately. A program I vaguely remember from childhood. I agree with Ed Nelson. To call it a soap opera is belittling. There are times when this program achieves brilliance; but it is never less than excellent. PEYTON PLACE is melodrama elevated to high art. Ed Nelson is a perfect leading man -- a strong, confident, charming presence and a nuanced actor who genuinely felt his business. His fine work will always be there for new generations to discover.
My wife and I recently watched the entire series up to a little bit past when Connie and Elliott left Peyton Place. The first two seasons especially had some truly exceptional writing and direction. Really a very fine show. Ed Nelson was excellent in the program and was, in general, a very good actor. Aside from PEYTON PLACE he was a perennial on television during the 60's, 70's and 80's. He had a good career and, apparently, enjoyed his retirement. Sorry to learn of his passing.

PEYTON PLACE was the best nighttime "soap" ever -
it was compelling viewing for all 5 seasons - 514 episodes -
