She was incredibly attractive, but also a versatile actress. She could play different ethnic types pretty effortlessly. The Gunsmoke episode, the Squaw, come to mind.

She was very good as Consuelo Biros in the classic Outer Limits episode, Demon With a Glass Hand.

T'Pring was a babe and a bitch and Arlene Martel absolutely played it to perfection. Magnificent.

BTW, there was nearly an "Amok Time" reunion with Leonard Nimoy and Arlene in the season four Mission: Impossible episode, "Terror." They don't share a scene together. There is, however, a Mark Lenard-Leonard Nimoy reunion in that episode.

Ironically she technically appeared with Culp again in a 1974 "Columbo" but her scenes ended up being cut (though her credit remains). She also had a semi-recurring role as Underground operative "Tiger" in a half-dozen "Hogan's Heroes" episodes over the course of the run and "Battlestar Galactica" fans like me will never forget her great line to Dirk Benedict, "What sort of offense is Starbucking?"

Regarding Trek, she mentioned that when she came in she first read for the Sylvia role in "Catspaw" but they decided she was better suited for the role in "Amok Time".

I just watched "Double Exposure" on Sunday. That's two weird coincidences regarding celebrity deaths this week.

Seeing that photo of Martel with Culp in that Outer Limits episode really has me wanting to watch that series again. It's been quite a few years. Plus the number of great actors from that era make it interesting, despite the sci-fi trappings.
