Anyone here who owns this soundtrack from 1987?

How is the music?

I'll ask my wife. She is a certified Todd freak. If she doesn't have it, no one will.

i actually think i had a CD of this.

Sold it a long time ago

Todd Rundgren, and also songs by 'The Smithereens', etc. ?

I actually would like to see a CD release of 'Dangerously Close', have the LP, but really would like a CD release.

Those score cues by Michael McCarty are great

Here is the Under Cover soundtrack:

No Smithereens there though. Seems like you are confusing Under Cover with Dangerously Close. Rundgren scored Under Cover.

Never heard of Dangerously Close or Michael McCarty, but the whole film is on youtube.

Well how much Todd do you need? wink She has all of the key Todd/Utopia/Nazz albums from the 1960s to the 1980s.

I'm not into his music at all, but I found it interesting that he worked on this film score.

Todd is GOD! May I recommend "A Wizard, A True Star" (Todd) and "Oops, Wrong Planet!" (Utopia).

Did you know that Utopia covered Bernard Herrmann's "Journey to the Center of the Earth" on one of their early LPs?

Had no idea about this album. Despite his eccentricities, or probably because of them, Todd is always fascinating. And a terrific producer as well as songwriter, technomaniac, singer, instrumentalist, etc. Never been anyone quite like him in the history of pop music. Love the poppy 2-LP Utopia release near the end of their tenure. And tons of other stuff, too.

I still haven't found out how this score sounds.

Electronic? Rock-based?

On a recent news magazine show I learned that nowadays Todd and his wife live in Hawaii and own and operate a restaurant which features a variety of Spam-based dishes. (Turns out if you're restauranting on the Hawaiian scene, you better know your Spam -- been a staple on the local diet ever since the G.I.s bivouacked on the islands and introduced the "delicacy" during WWII.) No kiddin'!

Ah, but I digress... I loved the Nazz stuff back in the late 60s but have never seen or heard Under Cover.

I bought the vinyl album. Rundgren's score is not in any way neccessary listening, but it's a decent rock-score preserved on one side of the album. His guitar playing is somewhat similar to David Gilmour's, and the main theme is quite memorable.

Side two is 5 rather annoying alternative rock songs.
