I would appreciate some recommendations on Delerue's scores on this label. There seems to be about a dozen different titles, with two or more scores on each cd.

I've got 'em all as far as Delerue is concerned, but I would particularly recommend L'AFRICAIN and the two Philippe de Broca sets. Actually I would get the others one at a time, and as long as you like what you're hearing, continue to explore...

Actually, I would get the others (Sarde, Magne, De Roubaix, DeMarsan, Legrand, Polnareff, Solal, Bolling... etc.) as that is where the real gold is.

Just like shureman has stated, I have them all. There's really no picking and choosing when it comes to Delerue, you get it all.

I'll just second shureman's recommendation. L'AFRICAIN is very easily accessible, I was waiting quite a while to finally hear it in clean sound and am still grateful for Universal France to put it out. smile

L'Africain is A-grade paydirt in anyone's gold mine.

Oh! I see, but I meant that Universal France is a very rich 'vein' to mine, covering a whole era of French film music, Delerue, however great you perceive him to be, being only a small part of a much wider and richer ensemble.

And yes, L'Africain is surprisingly good. Always grateful for all the wonderful work and thought that Universal France puts into its releases.
