FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAKESHORE RECORDS PRESENTS
STAGE FRIGHT
MOVIE MUSICAL SOUNDTRACK

Featuring Performances by Meat Loaf, Minnie Driver, Allie MacDonald,
and … The Metal Killer

“Delicious Operatic Bloodfest” -- Austin Chronicle
"Mixes comedy, buckets of blood, and musical theater with wildly entertaining results."
-- Daily Grindhouse

(August 14, 2014– Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the STAGE FRIGHT – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on August 19th and on CD September 23, 2014. STAGE FRIGHT features performances by the film’s Meat Loaf, Minnie Driver, Allie MacDonald and the Metal Killer! The film’s writer/director Jerome Sable and Eli Batalion composed the music and lyrics for this GLEE meets-ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW musical comedy producing a genre-bending score that mixes heavy metal rock with a full orchestral sound.

Starry-eyed teenager Camilla Swanson (Allie MacDonald) wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a Broadway diva, but she’s stuck working in the kitchen of a snobby performing arts camp. Determined to change her destiny, she sneaks in to audition for the summer showcase and lands a lead role in the play, but just as rehearsals begin, blood starts to spill, and Camilla soon finds herself terrorized by a bloodthirsty masked killer who despises musical theater.

Starring musical theater veterans Meat Loaf (THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW) and Minnie Driver (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA) STAGE FRIGHT mixes SCREAM with GLEE in this genre-bending R-rated horror-musical from Jerome Sable, award-winning director of the celebrated short film “The Legend of Beaver Dam.” STAGE FRIGHT is produced by Ari Lantos and Jonas Bell Pasht.

"The STAGE FRIGHT score was like a musical experiment borne out of equal love for both Beethoven and Black Sabbath, and the naïve hubris that we could combine two disparate musical traditions without compromise. We were like Doctor Moreau on his island, performing vivisections on the classical orchestra using a heavy metal band for a knife," said Sable.

Batalion adds, "For us, the fusion is a musical fantasy, but just like with those grotesque humanoid island beasts, we expect that most listeners will be horrified."

Magnet Releasing presents STAGE FRIGHT currently available on DVD and Blu-Ray. The STAGE FRIGHT – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available digitally on August 19th and on CD September 23, 2014.

About the composers/songwriters
JEROME SABLE & ELI BATALION are longtime collaborators who, in addition to writing, acting, and directing, have been composing music together for over twenty years. Childhood friends who grew up in Montréal, Québec, Sable & Batalion have written music of many styles and genres, and across multiple platforms, including theatre, movies and television. In 2005, they released an experimental hip-hop album called "G Marks the Spot," under the moniker the Grafenberg All-Stars. The album features Sable and Batalion rapping over a diverse array of musical styles, including R&B, latin, jazz and pop, and spotlights a talented lineup of guest musicians. Music from "G Marks the Spot" has been featured on USA, MTV, IFC, TLC, Discovery Channel and is available on iTunes.

In 2010, Sable & Batalion made a short horror musical film called THE LEGEND OF BEAVER DAM, in which they used heavy metal and thrash metal to musicalize the bogeyman of a horror movie. They continued to build on this concept for their feature horror musical film, STAGE FRIGHT (2014), in which they combine a full orchestral sound with hard rock, resulting in a genre-blending score. Sable and Batalion draw on many influences for the music of STAGE FRIGHT, including Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Beethoven, Lionel Bart, and Krzysztof Penderecki.

JEROME SABLE studied piano, violin, music theory and ear training at the McGill Conservatory of Music. He has a B.A. in philosophy from Brown University and an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

ELI BATALION also studied piano at the McGill Conservatory of Music and then went on to become a self-taught bassist, guitarist, and drummer. He has a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from Brown University and an MBA from Hautes Études Commerciales in Montreal.
