DOCTOR WHO---BBC America released a new photo from the first episode which premiers on August 23.
MACK BOLAN---THE HANGOVER team of Bradley Cooper and director Todd Phillips will reunite for this movie which will the first of a planned franchise based on the 38 Don Pendleton novels.
SHAZAM---Dwayne Johnson has indicated he will appear in the movie but hasn't decided on if he will play Billy Batson, Shazam or Black Adam who is his personal favorite. However, Warner Bros. doesn't want Johnson to play a villain.
ANNE RICE---Josh Boone (THE FAULT IN OUR STARS) is reportedly in negotiations to write and direct an untitled movie from Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles based on THE VAMPIRE LESTAT and QUEEN OF THE DAMNED.
A MONSTER CALLS---Sigourney Weaver will co-star with Liam Neeson and Felicity Jones in this movie based on the children's book.
LONDON HAS FALLEN---Fredrik Bond (CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN) will direct the sequel to OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN.
POWERS---Sharlto Copley (DISTRICT 9) and Michelle Forbes (THE KILLING) will star in Sony's PlayStation Network series based on the comic book about two investigators who solve crimes involving those with superhuman abilities.
THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE---NBC pilot underway based on the 1997 movie that starred Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino and Charlize Theron.
RAIN---new tv series starring Keanu Reeves based on the novel series about hired assassin John Rain.

I read the Mack Bolan novels as a 13-14 year old and even then I knew that any attempt at a film of this series would fail to capture the "poetry" of the language found in the books. ("His parts were outward bound before his mind could register death.")

They need to redo the set. You can see where the painted backdrop meets the fore-shortened desert 'floor' in a line. Maybe they should CGI the thing with some banthas in single file from a Tusken patrol accompanied by El Aurens going across the elevated backdrop in the middle distance.
