StudioCanal will release on Blu-ray director Jack Gold's war drama Aces High (1976), starring Malcolm McDowell, Christopher Plummer, Simon Ward, Peter Firth, John Gielgud, Trevor Howard, Ray Milland, and Richard Johnson. Newly restored, the film will be available for purchase on November 3rd.

Reportedly, one scene in ACES HIGH uses footage from THE BLUE MAX. The film only got a limited U.S. release by Cinema Shares International in late 1977. I don't suspect it will get a Blu-ray release in the U.S. either (it's never been on Region 1 DVD). There is also no known release of Richard Hartley's score.

This is a great movie and I can't wait to get it on blu.

Not sure it does use any stock footage from Blue Max though.

Someone on IMDB claims that a scene with a balloon observer jumping out with a parachute is reused footage from The Blue Max.
