My brother actually brought this soundtrack to my attention. I never knew why I never gave it a chance. I love the movie. Anyone know where I can buy this cheaper than $30? Will there be a expanded or reissue any time soon?

I've been looking for this for years. I'd settle for a re-release of the album!

This was a sadly overlooked film upon it's release. His score for the film really showcases Shearmur's real talent better than any film he did. I am fortunate to have bought it when first released. "An Invitation to the Ball" is a fantastic cue.

It's a shame is that he is hardly working anymore these days on first run released films. He works on tv and smaller released films now. I love his score to "Reign of Fire" as well.

Agreed. One of the themes pops up in Horner's Avatar, of all things (I think it's in "Jake's First Flight," but I'm not about to go through that horror show again). "Escape To The Island" is just fantastic in the film and on the album (I think they play it twice in the film).

This topic needs to be bumped, as I guess my last post didn't register?

I missed this movie when it came out.

I really enjoy Edward Shearmur's music, though. If this was re-issued, I would definitely pick it up.

...one of the best scores of the '90's, IMHO......

One of his best... too bad he is wasting his time scoring such garbage these days...
So happy to have one of these...

Yes, surely one of the best scores of the 90s! Wait... you do know this movie and score were released in 2002?

Anyway, this is an awesome score. The more listeners, the merrier. I'm honestly happy with Shearmur's limited "great" output. I love Reign of Fire and The Count of Monte Cristo, and Sky Captain was loads of fun though not a great re-listening experience due to its constant bombast (at least in my opinion). But those first two I mention are enough to my ears for a grand old time whenever I'm in the mood for his sound.

I published a "Best of the 00's" before i had heard the score on cd.

It was used twice in the film because they reshot the ending and there was no time to score again with new music, so they edited in the "Escape To The Island" cue again.
