My favourite movie poster with mini actor photos, which at the time Ponderosa Restaurant was giving away for free with any kid's meal:

I think the original Star Trek The Motion Picture poster had the row of heads on the bottom. The teaser poster did, the one with an Enterprise design that wasn't yet finalized, but not the theatrical one sheet. Interestingly, Jerry's score credit isn't on that poster. I don't remember how far ahead of the film it came out, but I seem to recall it on the back of comic books as early as spring or summer of 1979. Anyone able to corroborate or correct?

I think Siskel & Bert had something to say about this, or maybe it was just Ebert. Basically, when the poster showed the little boxes with the stars, it was a bad sign. With the exception of Superman II, you can generally say all of these movies are fairly deficient in one way or another. There may be some other outliers, but I maintain this to be true.

@ - Accidental Genius: That's the poster I was thinking of Thxs. That was the Phase II Enterprise I believe. Yes, of course! Had forgotten that. I kinda like that design, actually, though I do prefer the finalized TMP refit design.
