FRIDAY, AUGUST 29

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON---a source said the end of the movie will introduce a new team, "Captain America "will assemble a team that is a mix of familiar and new faces, leading forward into Phase Three...some have changed in between drafts ... but one character who has always been in this new team is Captain Marvel (Ms. Marvel).
But now I'm hearing that Marvel has cold feet about including her in the film. Not because they're against the character - my sources assure me she is coming and it's very plausible she could be on the team in 'Avengers 3' - but because they're not certain they want to introduce her in this way. They basically aren't certain they want to just drop her into the MCU fully formed in a team movie."

DOCTOR STRANGE---Joaquin Phoenix is in negotiations for the starring role.

LONGMIRE---A&E cancelled the series due to low ratings. It will be shopped to other networks.

DEADWOOD---Kim Dickens commented on if the David Milch Western series will return for Season 4, "He [Milch] had a perfect wrapping it up place. You know, I've spoken to him about it, and I think he harbors a hope and he's always open to the possibility." Cast members including Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Brad Dourif and John Hawkes are not involved in long-term contracts which could mean they're available unlike in the past.

UNDER THE DOME---Angie, who was killed off in Season 2, will return in the September 1 episode "She will reunite with former flame and captor Junior (Alexander Koch) in the infamous storm shelter, where he was last seen cuddling with Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox) while guarding the egg." Also, Big Jim will find out what really happened to his wife.

GAME OF THRONES---Mark Gatiss, co-creator of SHERLOCK, returns as banker Tycho Nestoris in Season 5.

400 DAYS---sci fi movie starring Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz in which four astronauts spend 400 days in a space simulator to train for a deep space mission "only to discover that their mission may not be as simulated as they were led to believe."

DEATH STILL---Syfy tv movie starring Ben Browder and Ray Wise in which a man inherits an antique camera from his grandfather. Those who are photographed by the camera die horrible deaths. The man must rescue his 11-year-old son who is trapped inside the camera. Premiere is October 6.

FEBRUARY---horror movie underway starring Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka in which two girls are trapped in a haunted girls prep school. Osgood Perkins, son of Anthony Perkins, is the writer/director.

More than any other TV show, I'd love love love to have Deadwood back.

But McShane said they leveled the sets / standing town years ago. Rebuilding that and bringing back such a wide cast would be at a huge expense for HBO. Nothing is impossible but this seems highly unlikely to me.

Here we go again. I liked Longmire and have watched it for both seasons. It ended with a cliffhanger, of course. I hope another network picks it up instead of leaving faithful viewers hanging once again!

I read that A&E likely cancelled Longmire because they don't own it, like many of the other shows they air. Too bad. I really liked it, too. It does have a big fan base and hopefully another network will be smart enough to pick it up.
