Just listening to the 1997 Varese release of Herrmann`s great THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR. And for the first time I`ve noticed some distortion on track 10 THE STORM at exactly 1:13. It only appears on the right channel.
Is it just my CD or is it a problem with the master?
Maybe someone who also owns it can check his CD.

I`m always a bit paranoid when it comes to CD deterioration smile

I no longer have the 1997 CD release, but for the record, I just checked that track on the disc included in Varese's Herrmann at Fox box set, and there is no distortion.

There is a sudden crackling sound at that precise point in the track (1:13 - 1:14), and only in the right-channel, on my copy too.

I have it in my copy too. May be a flaw in the master all the CDs were pressed from since it's not in the later Herrmann boxed set.
