Just curious...has anyone heard this yet? I've got it on order from Amazon FR but probably won't get it until the end of December since I'm in the US.

Wow, listen to these samples! The main title is a rockin' epic Miklos Rozsa freakout!

Here's the full cue:

I got my copy yesterday and of course listed immediately smile
The score is fine but suffers a bit from the amount of very short cues which are often consisting of various even shorter fragments. There is a lot of playful writing for woodwinds, which is sometimes lovely and is occasionally developed into longer pieces... some bigger orchestral cues and fanfares are very good as well, but overall... it's a bit too schizofrenic for my taste.
I will have to give it a few more listens and then I am sure it will grown on me but if you are expecting something more "adult" as Talgorn's Asterix, you might be slightly disappointed - although they both include some fantastic brass writing and fanfares for the Romans.

I love Rombi so I'll be getting this, but yea, if the samples are anything to go by, this ain't got nothin' on Talgorn's Asterix score.

Believe me Lokutus, it will grow on you. I had the same feeling initially but this turned out to be a little gem. It has Williams and Silvestri touches over it but is first and foremost Rombi showing some extraordinary orchestral skills. Really good!

I really like the score. It is exactly NOT a boring typical Talgorn Williams clone but a wonderful playful orchestral adventure score.
My favorite Asterix score so far. Perfectly performed by the Brussel Philharmonic btw.

Welp, I didn't care for this one at all.

Tons of mickey-mousing, radical stylistic changes between [mostly very short] tracks, the roman fanfare music feels vastly underpowered and while there's a "theme" that pops up haphazardly, it's entirely unremarkable, sounding like a throwaway secondary idea from a Media Ventures animation score. Literally not a note of this had any of usual, Rombi's wonderful trademarks.

The 45 seconds or so lifted from THE GOONIE's opening Fratelli chase in track two is amusing, though.

Ah well, win some and lose some. Rombi's almost-concurrent THE NEW GIRLFRIEND is a true gem thankfully.

Now Frederic Talgorn's Asterix score - THAT is how it's done!

I must say, try as I might, I just can't get into this score either.
Outside of a few cues that sound like John Powell on song, it's either bland mickey-mousing music, silly source cues or not terribly interesting action/drama tracks...all too short or schizophrenic to settle into.
I own two ASTERIX scores...this one and the Talgorn one...and the Talgorn one is the tops for me.

Not only tops in comparison to Rombi's work here, but also one of the best scores of the past decade in my opinion. It's freaking awesome!

No disrespect to Rombi of course, most of whose music I adore.
