I can recall that Yogi Bear loves lots of ketchup on his Fillitt Mig Nonnies.
Got him kicked out of a Paris restaurant.

I find it funny how people are complaining about this or even have strong opinions when most Americans [I am Honduran] look horrified when people put mayo or mustard on French Fries

Mustard is the only thing I'll put on my fries.

Gravy on occasion.

If you have invited me over for dinner, I will eat what you prepare and use whatever condiments you provide.

But as noted in a previous post, if I am paying to eat the food, I'll put whatever I f*cking please on it.

What irritated me about the two chefs listed above (and apparently continues to irritate me days later) is the really shitty snob attitude - that they are better than a customer who would prefer those things, that those customers are "barefoot and uneducated" because their palate is aligned differently than the chef's.

I don't think it has to do with palate. I won't try to change your mind but say myself for example, I'm don't enjoy hot sauce or anything too spicy so when I make chilli, it is rather mild and as such everyone can go ahead and make it hotter I don't mind at all.

However, when I make a pastry that I've sold in other places and I know is PERFECT, I refuse to let anyone add anything to it when they TRY it because I don't want the person's indifference or amiable comments... I want them to LOVE IT or HATE IT. Simple as that.

Those who do love it usually come back for me.

I do think it that yes, while the chef's might have a snobby attitude, they have 100 percent right. Everyone here knows this to be true....why? How many people love the way their mother's cook? How many people leave restaurants when a chef moves on and the meal isn't the same? How many have tried to replicate a dish and somehow it was off?

Make no mistake, I am a snob when it comes to things and so is everyone on the planet. They just don't want to admit it. You know you'd roll your eyes if you saw someone put ice cubes in a beer or mix Pepsi and red wine.
