Just got my copy. This has great packaging, very informative notes and a very good recording. This is a cracking score with enough material in it for Carl Davis to construct a very interesting work for the concert hall (an oratorio or cantata perhaps) . I hope he does so, I would love to hear the resulting work.

Now when I have heard it all several times, and albeit my above post, I must comment that in my humble oppinion the inclusion of the Mono tracks among the rest in Stereo is a mistake.



I agree. Especially when, for example, the music in the inferior-sounding track 9 has already had an adequate airing, in much better sound, in track 5.

One of Davis' very best scores in my opinion, but presented here a bit like a really top quality restaurant meal being served with a spoonful or two of kitchen slops added to the main course plate.
Still, a bit of programming sorts that out and makes this a prime Davis acquisition.
