Let's just clear one thing up. Tadlow didn't choose to record Mister Moses, Prometheus did.
James F must have pointed this out a dozen times already but the confusion prevails.
Cheers
Yes it was the choice of Prometheus Records...but I did guide them to this choice as they really wanted to do some un-recorded Barry...whereas I would have much preferred to do some un-recorded Jarre
Finally found the time to hear this properly...ordered over christmas...and may I say thanks for recording such a rare and unique score which many wouldn;t have heard of, loved the African textures with that 60's Barry sound, quite a unique Barry really and made for a really atmospheric listening experience!
This one has not been a good seller apparently. A real shame because it is a delightful mid 60s Barry score, albeit for a pretty obscure film with no DVD release and unseen on TV for decades.

Really? That's disappointing, although not well known it was a previously unavailable and unrecorded Barry score. Did 'The Betsy' release fare any better?

My understanding is that 'The Betsy' hasn't done too well either. A real disappointment......
Both of which are wonderful Barry scores. All anyone has to do is listen to samples.
Could they both suffer from the mysterious "I don't know the film therefore I'm not interested" syndrome ? I'd never even heard of the films before or even knew Barry had scored them until these were released, but a quick listen to the samples soon convinced me to buy them.

There were previously recorded cues from both scores featured on earlier Silva/COPPO compilations, so I thought even maybe from that would have prompted more people to buy the full new recordings. Obviously not. It's hearing these type of things always worries me that future recordings of Barry's work may not happen.
