THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE---director Zack Snyder released an official, high-resolution photo of the new armed Batmobile, "Here's a real picture of the Batmobile."

RAMBO: LAST BLOOD---Sylvester Stallone will be the star/director of the last movie in the franchise. Reportedly, the plot has Rambo heading to Mexico to save a young girl from a drug lord.

AMERICAN NIGHTMARE: THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL---Paul Greengrass (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, CAPTAIN PHILLIPS) is in talks to direct this movie about Richard Jewell, the security guard who discovered a bomb at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta only to become a suspect. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill star. The script is by Billy Ray (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS).

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.---photo released showing Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and the Howling Commandos in a flashback scene in Season 2.

SONS OF ANARCHY---the final season's premiere drew 6.2 million viewers compared to last season's premiere of 5.9 million.

DEADLY HAUL---photo released from the Syfy movie in which a monster and its half-human sister escape from a tractor-trailer that is transporting them to a secure facility. They must be stopped before they can fulfill a prophecy to destroy mankind. Tom Sizemore and Evalena Marie star. The movie is part of Syfy's "31 Days of Halloween" horror movie series.

TED 2---Morgan Freeman will co-star in the sequel as a top civil rights lawyer who comes to the aid of Ted. Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried star.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2---Andrew Garfield commented on fan criticism the disappointing box office receipts of the sequel, "Once you start removing things and saying, 'No, that doesn’t work,' then the thread is broken, and it’s hard to go with the flow of the story. Certain people at the studio [Sony Pictures] had problems with certain parts of it, and ultimately the studio is the final say in those movies because they’re the tentpoles, so you have to answer to those people."

THE SLEEPING BEAUTY---Television USA bought the tv rights to the Anne Rice erotic novel trilogy. Rice is the executive producer.

THE AVENGERS---Dave Bautista said Drax the Destroyer will appear in the third Avengers movie and the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY sequel.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE---director Zack Snyder released an official, high-resolution photo of the new armed Batmobile, "Here's a real picture of the Batmobile."

Balding Ben Affleck / Batman steps out of his tweaked cockroach-mobile, pulls up his pants above his navel.

If it is Zack Snyder, it is ugly.

I bet you're right. It does look like a transformer.

It's time to de-militarize Batman and superheroes in general.

It's time for the studios to dump hack directors like Zach Snyder who make nothing but sh itty films.

A completely different mentality is needed in these films.
DC comics needs to be rescued from Warner Brothers.

Studios used to dictate what kinds of films got made. Now they dictate how the movie is made. I saw some interesting videos from a design firm. Their job is to develop the general look of a film or video game. (Locations, hardware, etc) Their not even the ones that produce the production work, just the art design.

The art director said over and over again the studios say make it look slightly different but familiar. In other words make it look like everything else because in their minds copying previous successes, right down to the most tiny of details is a recipe for success. This is what second rate hack "B" movie producers used to do.

Z Snyder loves death and violence, it is the largest tool in his director's toolbox, and I think that he fancies death as pretty gosh darned cool. That is a really weird thought, I think it is true though.

That's a hilarious article. Writer should consider working for the folks at the Onion. Don't get the complaints about the gun since the Burton and Nolan movies had guns too. And I understand you lot have already made up your minds about the movie but this reaching on a extraordinary level

Hmmm. Well, to Devilishly Advocate for a minute, variations on a theme are good. If it isn`t a reboot, you`d expect some artistic continuity.

The easiest thing to show off for an upcoming film is something visual... a prop or costume or set. Lets see what the story is like. I`m still hoping for something cerebrally/morally challenging to both characters. Seems the only way to go given their utterly disparate power levels.

We won't really have a good idea of how Zack Snyder's Batmobile looks until we see it color-corrected to hell, and oiled up, and in slow motion, and shooting a bunch of guns.

I think we are approached hero and superhero and comic movie fatigue. Yeah, not yet, it is at it's apex right now, and probably for about the next 3 years.

But really Superman, Batman, Spiderman has all been milked dry, the Marvel stuff is in the process of being milked dry.

All genre films have a shelf life, and comic superhero's as well including Marvels do too. Fortunately we have had a good long run of really good if not great Marvel films, as in Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, etc. But until they start losing money, they'll keep em churning out. DC Comics, outside of The Dark Knight, is next up for the juggernaut of film releases.
