Just wanted to check before buying—how are the Hobbit Special Edition CDs packed? I seem to remember reading about two different packaging versions of them, but I might be mixing things up. Are there US vs UK releases of the SEs, and are there differences? Actual jewel-case vs something else? etc.

Thanks!

They are packaged in cardboard digipack style - unfortunately, not in jewel cases. There are two types - European release and the US release. The European release is very flimsy - the Watertower US release is sturdier, a pretty nice package even if it is cardboard, more of a "book" style.

I think somebody here or at JWFan had comparison images, but the key is that the US version is the one to get if it's feasible for you.

Ok, great, that's exactly what I needed. I'll get the US version, since I'm here. I'm not a huge huge huge fan of the scores, but I do hope they release the CRs of the Hobbit scores. I'm a bit of a completist there.
