TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I WAS (AND STILL AM) A BIG FAN OF KVITKA CISYK'S SONGS/VOCALS SHE SANG/PERFORMED IN THE MOVIE, "YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE." I WAS WONDERING, IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO PURCHASE THOSE TRACKS, OTHER THAN THE OUT OF PRINT LP RECORD ALBUMS & AUDIO CASSETTE TAPES?

I'M ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR THE BEST QUALITY OF THOSE SONGS, LIKE ORIGINALS THAT WERE REMIXED/REMASTERED, FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES, LIKE AN MP-3, AND/OR A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD? IT WAS A SHAME SHE DIDN'T GET THE CREDIT & RECOGNITION SHE DESERVED, IN THE MOVIE, ITSELF, AS WELL AS THE SINGLES, AND SOUNDTRACK.

I PREFER HER VERSION OF "YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE," TO DEBBY BOONE'S!

SO, IF SOMEBODY COULD ASSIST ME WITH THIS, OR POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF SOMEBODY THAT COULD, I'D GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE, FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT TO READ MY MESSAGE. I APPRECIATE IT, AND IT MEANS A LOT. THANKS, AGAIN.

PS: Just out of curiosity, are there (or were there) any rare, unreleased, never-before-heard vocals, demos, rehearsal/recording sessions, alternate versions or live versions of any of the tracks that Kvitka performed for "You Light Up My Life?" I'd really be interested in hearing/listening to them. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'd love and wish for the soundtrack to be re-released, either for digital download, or on CD, remixed and remastered from the original master tapes! I'd buy it, for sure! She really did those songs justice. Nobody can hold a candle to her.

Believe it or not, there's a high demand for a reissue/re-release of the "You Light Up My Life" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Recording. I know it's been long out of print, but the only places that you're able to buy it are places like eBay, etc. I was thinking either you could do a limited collector's edition pressing, or an "on demand" order, instead of pressing a mass quantity, it could be made to order. I know for a fact that there is a huge interest in it. I'd love to see it with either the original artwork, that was featured on the front and back covers off the original LP record album, as well as a booklet, with some liner notes, and bonus tracks.

Sorry, can't help you gain any access to the film's recordings. The film was produced and copyrighted by The Sessions Company (aka Mondial International Corporation), which was the company of first-time producer-director-writer-composer Joseph Brooks. Sessions Company renewed its copyright in 2005, and maintains its distribution deal with Columbia Pictures for the film. The copyright on the original LP was held by Arista Records, but there is no indication that Arista renewed its copyright, so the rights to the LP masters have probably reverted to Brooks' company.

Sadly, in his later years, Brooks personally became the subject of an investigation after being accused of a series of casting-couch rapes. He was indicted in 2009, but committed suicide on May 22, 2011, before he could be brought to trial. Presumably his estate controls the rights to his material. Brooks was survived by a brother, ex-wife, and two children. In 2013, Brooks' son was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Kvitka Cisyk met an equally tragic end, dying from breast cancer on March 29, 1998, six days before her 45th birthday.

I really hope that at some point in the near future, that a re-release/reissue surfaces, and sees the light of day.
