Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems to me a title like this would have potential to break out beyond the core audience of niche collectors like us.

So why haven't we seen a label tackle this? Are there preservation issues with these titles? The original soundtracks hardly cover everything, when you consider the running times of the films and the variations on themes. Plus the albums (especially Part II) contain a lot of medleys as opposed to stand-alone cues.

Any hope of this?

Guy.

Dunno how likely this would be, but I would LOVE it.

According to MV, it's one of those difficult, but "never say never releases" ...

Would love see to see this trilogy released in all its glory as well!

I'd do anything for these.

MV clearly just hasn't made the rights holders an offer they can't refuse.

Is it worthy to buy the old releases or is there a new release coming soon??

Surprised Def Jam records never tackled this.

I'd get it of course.

This trilogy was always my tops for the wish list. I don't understand either why this was never touched for updates. I bought the complete trilogy set that came with some Ennio Morricone scores by Deja Vu pretty cheap. The set was called The Mafia Movies and has 5 discs. I know its not the original but it is pretty close to satisfy me right now.

I'd definitely buy them. Or, at least Parts I and II if they were available separately.

I think the cd of the original film is definitely lacking. Not great sound at all. Part II is better.
