Don't recall a thread mentioning this. Miller was an always-dependable character actor in many a TV series in the '60s and '70s.

I remember him from Wagon Train. I thought he was cool in that series. R.I.P.

Aw come on, Joan! You know it was his portrayal of Tarzan that made you remember Denny Miller!

Thanks, Jim. Sad to learn of this. He will be missed. I always enjoyed his performances in shows and films. I got the impression that his personality was like some of the characters he portrayed. He seemed to be an easy-going, friendly type.
I fondly remember this line: “That’s not my mother! I never saw her before in my life!” from – anyone?

He could be seriously imposing and threatening but he could also play characters who were sweet and gentle. Miller poked fun at his own image (sort of) in an early Magnum, P.I. episode, playing a dopey security guard with an oft-repeated catch phrase ("Take root and heist 'em!")

He played the surfer in the only episode of Gilligan's Island I've ever watched from start to finish. lol

I've watched a lot of Tarzan films, but I never saw his Tarzan movie. I have read that it was pretty bad, but he looks good a Tarzan.

Apart from Blake Edwards' "The Party", I remembered him as a guest in:
The Fugitive ("Approach with Care" in 1966)
I Spy ("Anyplace I Hang Myself Is Home" in 1968)
Mission: Impossible ("The Field" in 1971)
The Six Million Dollar Man ("Target in the Sky" in 1975)
