I'm having a difficult time ranking them in any sort of definitive way. I'd just as soon cram twenty of his scores in the top five. What about you?

Probably not the most popular choice, and probably an indication I need to listen to more scores by Christopher Young, but I've always loved his score for Entrapment. It just hits all the right notes as an action-thriller and has some really lovely exotic and lyrical cues ("Kuala Lumpur," "La Fleur de la Musique," "Thank God").

Also, as per tradition, he inserted a film composer in a cue title 'The Dancing Jars'.

There are a lot of Young scores that I think are terrific - and indeed, until someone mentioned "Entrapment" here, I'd forgotten how much I really loved that score. Going through the list of scores that I have, and then a more general list, I find myself saying: "Oh, I really like that one, too!" every other title or so... So, that said, I think these would be my five favorites at the moment - in no particular order: Creation Entrapment The Fly II An Unfinished Life The Core And a most honorable mention to two other favorites: Hush and Spider-Man 3 Would be terrific if his score for "Swordfish" - which I remember Jeff Bond complimenting in FSM ages ago - would get a more extensive release than the two cuts on the "songs" album, too.

Maurice JARre. Gotcha. I was trying to work out some kind of Jarre connection there.

Would be terrific if his score for "Swordfish" - which I remember Jeff Bond complimenting in FSM ages ago - would get a more extensive release than the two cuts on the "songs" album, too. there actually is a CD floating around with nothing but the score that apparently was made by Intrada and long since gone out of print. I know that Buysoundtrax was shelling it to people for a short while whenever someone spent $100 or more. but it's very pricey, according to amazon a used copy of it is $60 You're right, of course. I'd forgotten about that promo release! Here's hoping, then, that it follows suit with several other Young promos, and finally gets an official release soon. Oh, and speaking of promos, I really enjoy Young's colorful score to "Wonder Boys," too!
