FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---concept art was released. The first image shows a cloaked Chrome Stormtrooper which will not be cloaked in the movie. A source said the Chrome Stormtroopers are members of a private security force for Adam Driver's character who is a "wealthy aristocrat with an interest in Sith artifacts". The second image shows a Lightsaber battle in a forest while the Millennium Falcon hovers in the background. TRUE DETECTIVE---Rachel McAdams is in negotiations for the lead female role which is reported to be Sheriff Ani Bezzerides, "a tough, no-nonsense Monterey sheriff whose troubled upbringing has driven her to gambling and alcohol." Taylor Kitsch is rumored to be the top candidate to fill out the the third law enforcement role with Colin Farrell previously confirmed by HBO. THE KEEP---documentary underway titled A WORLD WAR II FAIRYTALE: THE MAKING OF MICHAEL MANN'S THE KEEP. THE KEEP was a disappointing 1983 World War II horror movie directed by Mann which starred Scott Glenn, Gabriel Byrne and Jurgen Prochnow. SYFY---renewed DEFIANCE and DOMINION. THE FLASH---The Pied Piper will be a gay villain who is a protege of Dr. Wells. ELLE---Paul Verhoeven (ROBOCOP, TOTAL RECALL, BASIC INSTINCT) will direct this movie based on the French novel OH in which a woman seeks revenge on the man who raped her. Isabelle Huppert stars. GENIUS---movie underway about writer Thomas Wolfe and editor Max Perkins. Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Laura Linney and Guy Pearce star. LUMEN---Joe Johnston (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, THE ROCKETEER) will direct this TNT/Steven Spielberg series pilot underway about a "famous author of a best-selling series of fantasy books who suddenly disappears, and a family of four finds themselves transported to the mystical alternate world that inspired her work. Once there, they are plunged into the middle of a war raging between rival magical forces, of light and darkness." Y: THE LAST MAN---the long-gestating sci fi movie based on the comic book was canceled and rights revert back to the creators.
