TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30

UTOPIA---the GONE GIRL duo of director David Fincher and writer Gillian Flynn reunite for this HBO remake of the British series about a group of geeks with a graphic novel sequel which predicts global disasters as they are pursued by a secret agency called The Network. Fincher will direct all of the episodes.

BONE TOMAHAWK---Lili Simmons (TRUE DETECTIVE), Sean Young (BLADE RUNNER), David Arquette (SCREAM), Kathryn Morris (COLD CASE) and Sid Haig (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS) will co-star with Kurt Russell, Richard Jenkins, Matthew Fox and Patrick Wilson in this Western horror movie. The plot involves an aging sheriff who leads a posse to rescue people seized by cannibalistic troglodytes.





CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON: THE GREEN LEGEND---the sequel is Netflix's first original movie and will premiere on August 28, 2015. Michelle Yeoh stars.





INHERENT VICE---Warner Bros. released the poster of the movie based on the novel. Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon star.





MAGIC MIKE XXL---Elizabeth Banks, Danny Glover and Michael Strahan have joined the sequel cast.

HANSEL & GRETEL 2---Tommy Wirkola (DEAD SNOW) will no longer direct the sequel although he wrote script.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST---Stephen Chbosky (PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER) will write the script for the Disney live-action remake movie.

DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER---Jesse Metcalf and Virginia Madsen will co-star with Dennis Haysbert in this movie based on the zombie video game.

The official trailer was released yesterday as well. There's a frisky Coen brothers-esque vibe to what is shown compared to the gravitas of Anderson's previous two films (There Will Be Blood and The Master). Premiering at the NY fest Saturday, opening around the country on Christmas. Looks to be one of the liveliest movies of the year.

I wonder if Tan Dun is coming back for the sequel. I looked, but cant' find any mention of a composer yet.
