Yep - this is great stuff alright.... I had fears for the lacklustre "90's" period stuff too as I'm way more a fan of his EFNY, Fog and Big Trouble-era scores. This does not disappoint in that regard, but there's more here, too - nicely fleshed out thematic stuff, transitional pieces that feel like mini-suites and a heckuva lotta homaging to the likes of the giallo scores that Goblin, Michelini et al dream up. Carpenter fans can relax with this one - it's very good.
I listen the new album ... But i like only 2 tracks :Vortex and Mystery.
Especially Vortex track : There's a mix of all synth-sounds effect from old movies of John Carpenter
at the beginning :there's a sfx in THEY LIVE style (sunglasses scene) the piano style from FOG and HALLOWEEN the electric guitar between IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS and VAMPIRE style the sequencer rythme from HALLOWEEN III at 1min 42sec there's a beautifull 80s sounds (little PRINCE OF DARKNESS) at 1min 58sec there's synth-voice background sound from BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA at 2min 36 sec and 2min 52 sec ...wow wow wow...there's a self big synth-sfx from HALLOWEEN II score album (the track 17 Halloween 2 suite E at 1min 10sec)...
and He play with his usual signature (2 or 3 notes)
pom pom......pom POM..
For Mystery : 80's vintage horror synth (it's a good track)
I like it a lot. Need a couple more listens to pick my favourites.
The remixes with the digital version are very forgettable, APART from JG Thirlwell's "Abyss" remix, which adds some orchestral elements that really makes it pop.
Amazon better ship mine tomorrow or heads will roll...Carpenter style.
I accidentally activated my Amazon Prime trial, so I spent last month ordering a whole bunch o' shit just so I could get quick/free delivery. My CD didn't arrive before I went work, but the Autorip went live at midnight so I could download it before I set off.
I pleasantly surprised that it included the remixes. I thought with Autorip you would just get MP3s of the tracks on the disc.

Just got mine today. Listening to it right now. Yeah, if you buy the 9 track physical CD with Amazon Prime you get the complete digital download free, with includes 6 (digital-only remix) bonus tracks. Or you could just buy the complete digital download.
