How is the book progressing?

Working on rights clearances...

Tracking down many of the sources I'm using is, well...slow (some are out of business, out of country or sadly deceased). Sifting through this chain-of-ownership and then negotiating permissions is simply...slow--though the folks I've dealt with are very helpful and excited about the project. My book is virtually all text (not a coffee-table book with beautiful behind-the-scenes photos like EVOLUTION does), however, to be legit, I've got to jump through all the hoops and juggle all the chainsaws while walking and chewing gum at the same time! It's still fun and I hope the APES and Goldsmith fans here will enjoy the book (and at least one other related product that will spring from this book).

Thanks for remembering, I like the motivation folks here give me to get it in your hands!

Yeah, welcome to the world of book producing. You have explained the workload very well.
The final version is always like the very tiniest tip of the iceberg.
Difficult to imagine the size of monster mountain beneath the water!! Worse than ever when dealing with pictures and a huge tough-to-find hitlist to track down.
In truth the volume of work doesnt always equate to the final product, but when its a labour of love you have to put aside any doubts and crack on and see it through. The satisfaction will be your reward.
And when its finally put to bed you will know what you have achieved and thats all that matters.

Keep going and be strong on the frustrating days when it seems like youre going backwards. You arent really.

Thanks Bill! It's great to have support AND understanding from people here on the FSM board. Helps to keep the distractions down and the work moving forward.

I hope we don't have to wait much longer, as I'm dying to read what you've got.
