John Debney's PASSION OF THE CHRIST 2CD set forthcoming from La La Land Records. John Debney Just confirmed this on his facebook page! (So I guess its OK to start the thread here)

So thrilled to announce that the Double CD re-issue of the The Passion of the Christ soundtrack is almost done. Wonderful interviews with film makers and key musicians. Spectacular! Thank you to La-La records! - John Debney

Really exciting news because I liked this along with The Stoning of Soraya M score. Both score complement each other.

Oh my goodness, yes! I had precisely one listen to this score, a long time ago, but I loved it. I think it was the Oscar CD. I will definitely be buying this.

Cool,
Oddly enough, I've been long in procrastinating to get the original CD album.
Lucky me in lieu of this release

I have a used copy of the CD I got (I think I got it used myself), and for all the talking about the score and it's high selling, I was never able to trade it in YEARS.

Lol..No need to since John Debney announced it officialy. But to be fair, I do feel that priveleged news should be checked at the gatekeeper to avoid any inconvenience to the labels.

First D2 Mastering took away Varese's surprise of them releasing Predator 2.

Then James Fitzpatrick took away Intrada's surprise of them releasing The Ten Commandments.

Then John Debney took away La-La Land's surprise of them releasing The Passion of the Christ.

Who's next? Quartet? Music Box? Kritzerland? Prometheus? Perseverance?

Why? You can buy the existing release for what amounts to pennies and it has all the music on there. Heaven knows it's more than enough!

There is nothing wrong with a composer spilling the beans. After all it is their baby. smile

PS we are not answering anything about this release at this time.

Easy. Don't try to keep secrets, because its just silly. Really there are no secrets, because someone always knows and someone always tells someone else.

Well, that's okay cause apparently all we have to do is ask Debney. razz

Ten Commandments wasn't a secret. Doug and Roger had already acknowledged they were working on it and it was just taking a long time.

The most recent Intrada secret let out of the bag was the complete remastered Last Starfighter...also revealed by the composer.

Oh right, I forgot about The Last Starfighter!

I don't think Doug&Roger EVER publicly stated they were working on The Ten Commandments. The closest I can find is Roger saying this in March of 2013

You'll be getting a spectacular presentation of The Ten Commandments before too long, so don't worry. When you hear it all, you'll elevate it from "a fine score" to one of the greatest ever. But in the meantime, definitely enjoy FSM's spectacular release for The Wild Bunch. Another one of the greatest ever.

I hope the 2nd disc includes a proper edition of The Passion of the Christ Symphony.

Speaking of Debney, he revealed Hocus Pocus before Intrada announced it. There is plenty examples of the beans being spilled early by composers or even producers. Cliff Eidelman revealed The Meteor Man and Star Trek before Intrada spoke about it. It was revealed in another releases booklet that Silvestri's Mac and Me was coming from Quartet before an announcement.

Nothing truly surprises me anymore. The only release in my mind that blew me away was Mancini's Santa Claus from Quartet, only because they released the reissue prior to the fantastic 3 disc set.

Yes, it would be fantastic. We'll see. The exact name of the piece is Passion of the Christ Oratorio.
