Fabulous choice, Mr. Fitz! Although OBSESSION is my holy grail, S&G is high on my want-list, too. I will look forward to your great products.

Great news from Tadlow again. The fact that there is unrecorded music included has sealed the fate of the cardboard S&G for me. After hearing the S&G track in the first Silva compilation http://www.silvamasters.com/track/MjE4NDAxLTcxZTNhOQ/ it was obvious that this score needed a rerecording to bring out it's true magnificence. 50 years is a long wait to get a full score recording. Years are not on my side so its a case of 'hang in there'. Thanks James! Don't leave it too long. wink

In my research I have had the "pleasure" of watching SODOM about 12 times!!!!!!

And you're still able to function as a normal human being? Amazing!

“Sodom and Gomorrah” (“Sodoma e Gomorra”) from the year 1962 is a splendid production by Goffredo Lobardo for Titanus that continues the tradition of the epic cinema of Hollywood. An international cast was hired for this mega production: Stewart Granger (who was not a newcomer for the epic genre since he had already acted in movies like “Scaramouche” from 1952, “Salomè” from 1953 and “Beau Brummell” from 1954) in the role of Loth, head of an Jewish nomad tribe led by him through the desert to the twin cities Sodom and Gomorrah

Seems to be a few errors in the above. 'Lobardo' should be Lombardo. S & G is not a Hollywood film, or in the tradition of anything much but peplum. Scaramouche, Salome and Beau Brummell were not epics in any sense of the word. 'Loth' should be Lot. 'an Jewish' should be 'a Jewish', and last but not least, it would be drawing a very long bow to describe S & G as in any way 'splendid'. Other than that, the text is a model of veracity.

Since I avoided picking this up when I heard that the new recording was coming out a year later (i.e now)But now Thinking of picking up both of these.

But is this pressing a limited to a digipack release only? I swear I saw another 2cd clamshell set of the same with the added Miklos Rozsa 100th Anniversary Special Edition 2cds in Setereo'on its cover.

Can anyone confirm if the digibox version's liner notes or details are same as the the clamshell set? It appears that the the track list is the same for both.

The Centenary release which I have came out first, and sold out promptly.
This is just a straight re-issue. The sound is sampled a little too high, so effectively clipped. Some tracks were lost.
