I did that once, but it wasn't a problem: no one responded.

Naturally, Barryfan, the question arises: Did YOU? And if so, what did you do about it?

Whenever i start a thread on film music its is destined to plummet to page 3 without a response so i dont have that trouble.!! on a similar subject barryfan, what amazes me is the level of insular responses on the forum, whereby people post their choices/lists and make no attempt ever to comment on previous posts nor recognise that someone may have beaten them to their choice/s. People always argue they havent got time but how long does it take to skim read othrs choices before one posts. its just polite to acknowledge that before one types "One id like to see is xx" when three posts before somebody else has already mentioned it. How much better to say "Like barryfan, id like to see xx released..." if people have no interest in others tastes, why should anyone read theirs?

Like BillCarson above, I have a theory that almost everyone here pretty much wants to get their own thoughts across and are less interested in what others have to say on any given topic. In general, anyway. But then there are exceptions. Of course, if I start a topic on something that interests me, I'm always interested in what the others have to say (especially if they stay on topic). What I've frequently noticed, however, is that I'm drawn to certain topics that seem to be of minimal interest to most others, and vice versa -- the threads that get a lot of posts around here, I couldn't care less about. So I really feel like the "odd one out", which is why I've basically stopped posting stuff about general aesthetic issues, personal issues etc. that I used to do in the past. Then I'd rather chime in if someone ELSE goes to the trouble of posting one (like Joan above).

Never. I'm actually cranky when nobody responds to a post I made. I have to restrain myself from responding to every post in a thread just to show people that “I’m interested in what you have to say too!” (In a busy thread this is fine. But in a “two posts a day” thread it’s a little sad.)
