Almost any title that has "rise" or "rising" in it.

Or the 'streak' in the 90's of things like:
Executive Decision
Desperate Measures
Extreme Measures
I know there are more, but they are eluding me right now!

One of the worst EVER:

"I Love Trouble"

I basically have to look up Julia Roberts' credits just to bring it to mind.

Horrible, say-nothing, title to a movie.

This movie has the distinction of originally being conceived as a musical. I don't recall what, if anything, musical was shot, but it totally did not work.

Latitude Zero. That narrows the location down to somewhere on a 24,900 mile long line.

"Krakatoa - East of Java" (d'oh!)

"Edge of Tomorrow" (dumb - has been advertised for home media release in the UK as "Live: Die: Repeat" - a significantly better title)

"Uncle Boonmee Who Can Remember His Past Lives" - much as I like this film, the title is silly.

"Exhibit A" - yeah, give away the ending before you've even sat down to watch the movie - and then rub it in with that first scene...f***s sake....but apart from that - cracking movie.

"John Carter"....why??? At the very least it's "John Carter of Mars"!

MY BROTHER TALKS TO HORSES (1947)
SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE (1960)

Well, it certainly would be a candidate for most interesting double bill of all time.

Could be worse. Could be MY BROTHER GOES TO COLLEGE and SEX KITTENS TALK TO HORSES.

As long as they are only talking to horses, it's not as bad as it might be. :-)

Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever

Also, the recent Deadfall (Eric Bana, Charlie Hunnam) film title has nothing to do with anything and is as generic 80's action movie title as they come (and in fact it was a generic action movie in the 80's or 90's also starring Nic Cage and Michael Biehn). The recent Deadfall started out as Blackbird and then became Kin and ended up becoming the worst title of Deadfall. At least the other two titles had something to do with the movie.

The Chronicles of Riddick -- a pretentious attempt at a "classy" title will not make your pulp sci-fi movie better.

G.I. Jane

Blown Away

Die Hard with a Vengeance / Live Free or Die Hard / A Good Day to Die Hard

The Long Kiss Goodnight

Not Without my Daughter

Sleeping with the Enemy (what, am I watching Lifetime?)

Quantum of Solace

I really dislike single word titles.

Hop
Tangled
Frozen
(Exception being Jaws.)

Surprised no one mentioned the Star Wars titles which I find grown inducing.

Empire Strikes Back
Attack of the Clones
The Phantom Menace
You know the rest...

Yeah, although I seem to be among the few that likes *all* six of the movies, as far as titles go, "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Attack of the Clones" leave much to be desired. "A New Hope" will always be "Star Wars" in my mind, although I'll sometimes refer to it by the re-title just to distinguish it from the saga in general.

More dumb titles:

"Indiana Jones and the...."

ADDED: However, these and the "Star Wars" titles *are* based on the titles of those old cinema serials from which they draw inspiration, so maybe we can cut them some slack.
