Right. OK. So, now that this thread has maybe "Fallen Out of Love" with it's original announcement, how do I go about commenting on Mr Grusin's music as heard on the CD??
Received the disc yesterday and have been enjoying it much. Thanks to Kritzerland for letting us hear it!

I think Varese seriously underestimated how many would want it, despite the cost. But we've all done that before. Just happy to get some of this out for the folks who missed out.

Very much appreciated by a lot of us. Thank you very much.

Got my copy today! And it is so beautiful!

Thanks again for releasing this gem. Grusin at his best. Definitely a score that is needed.

What´s happening? I knew the score was great. I knew I was a huge Grusin fan.

But I can´t stop playing this CD.

It´s sublime. Thank you again, Kritzerland. This should be, in a perfect world, a huge blockbuster for you.

It's about the time of year I usually ask for an annual progress report on Duning's 3:10 to Yuma.

Any doors opening, or slightly ajar?

Don't I wish. They just don't seem to want our dough. It's kind of nauseating, but then again I've heard things are a good deal of trouble when dealing with them and who needs that.

Bruce, can I ask - are you looking to license the LP program, or do the original elements of Yuma still exist?

There was no LP program - there was a "composer promo" from not very good sources. I can't even get far enough to find out if there are elements.

Bruce,

Thanks so much for rescuing FALLING IN LOVE from the vaults so we all can appreciate it. I always loved the "Love Theme" from the film and was disappointed Grusin had never re-recorded in for one of his LPs. Now I can enjoy it in its original glory.

If sales are good on Grusin, maybe you can rescue SCANDALOUS too! I know I saw that in the theater in 1984 (I saw all of the movies Grusin scored in the 80s in the theater) but I will be damned if I can remember much about it. But it's Grusin so it has to be good.

I'll release any Grusin I can.

Looks like Meryl Streep had something to do with it -

Someone should tell the interviewer that Jack Nicholson isn't in Falling in Love smile

It's so obvious the film was tracked with Mountain Dance - and once directors fall in love with that stuff it's over. Grusin's original theme is so much better.

Oh, I agree completely. I remember watching the film when it came out and I found the Mountain Dance tune to be quite intrusive because I was already familiar with it from the Dave Grusin album! I still thought it be be a very nice picture, but then I must have been among the one (or maybe even zero) % of the UK population who "Knew the Score" so to speak. As you say, what Dave Grusin intended to do for the finished film IS superior. More... proper.
