I simply have to mention Mark Snow's magnificent Americana score to CRAZY IN ALABAMA (1999) again. Not only is Snow one of the most gifted composers IMHO, with CIA he has outdone himself. If you look for a deeply melodic and heartfelt score, strong, poignant themes and a solid Americana feel throughout you simply can't miss CIA.

But beware: the CD is a complete mess, mixing songs and score in a gut-wrenching way.

My personal track listing, combining the best cues:

Main Theme / Mellow Ride / Pool Fantasy / The Death of Taylor / Nehemia's March / Fame and Fortune / The Golden Gate / Freedom / End Titles.

Simply a great and most listenable score. IMHO.

I loved working on this score & CD...unfortunately CD sequence was stipulated by Film Company, so I did what I could to make the CD listenable, but of course you don't have to play the source music & pop songs....

afn, thanks for mentioning this. I have never watched the film, so I had no clue that it had a beautiful, thematic score. Also, I like Mark Snow. I shall now be on the look out for this.
