Hey Francis, I'd been wondering about I, Frankenstein for awhile. I never know what to expect from Klimek & Heil. What can you tell me bout the score? What's it like? What's so great about it that it's made your top 10?
I like Klimek & Heil's scores in general and having Lisa Gerrard on board always adds an extra dimension. It sounds even more MV then their previous action/horror output and the wailing voices might be a turnoff for some, but it packed enough of a punch for me to enjoy it.

Combination of all, I'd say... it's probably their most "traditional" and "epic" score to date... on the other hand, it's still dark fantasy movie... I suppose you might like this one a lot! Orchestra, choir, vocals and electronics pretty much sums this up. as far as I remember... the biggest problem is the album presentation... if it was much shorter and condensed it might be much better... this way it's just way too long and repetitive - still the best thing about the movie (the score and Yvonne Strahovski of course).
Samples:
BTW, has anyone actually heard SECRET SHARER? It doesn't seem like it. Snowpiercer a lot of people keep mentioning is 2013!

SNOWPIERCER had its wide international distribution in 2014, and only appeared in South Korea and certain festivals in 2013.
Personally, I don't count those films that had only a limited release (festival circuits and such) in 2013 as a 2013 release.
So if the movie never gets wide international release - like many others european and far east movies - it never actually exists and is eligible for anything?
In that logic MONKEY KING doesn't count either... since it hasn't been released internationally (yet).
SNOWPIERCER was released in its country of origin and had a soundtrack released in early fall 2013.

Thanks Lokutus for the info. Sounds intriguing, I will be checking it out soon. When their action/horror/sci-fi stuff falls flat, it falls flat hard (the criminally dull The International and the noisy mess that is The Cave) but they've produced enough quality music that I'm still interested (Cloud Atlas, Land of the Dead, Perfume -- although two of those had help from Tykwer).
I'm watching a film, browsing the internet on my tablet, so prefer websites where I can read the content.
I'll probably list them in a couple of weeks. Right now, I need to 'entice' people to listen to my show to hear the selections. Sorry, don't intend to be difficult!
