TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25

JURASSIC WORLD---first official trailer released.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFinNxS5KN4

TRUE DETECTIVE---HBO confirmed that Rachel McAdams (RED EYE, WEDDING CRASHERS), Taylor Kitsch (JOHN CARTER, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) and Kelly Reilly (FLIGHT, HEAVEN IS FOR REAL) will co-star with Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in Season 2.
Farrel will play corrupt detective Ray Velcoro. Vaughn will play career criminal Frank Semyon. McAdams will play sheriff's detective Ani Bezzerides. Kitsch will play California Highway Patrol officer Paul Woodrugh. Reilly will play former D-list actress Jordan Semyon, wife of Frank Semyon.

STAR WARS---sources claim the first spinoff movie is set in the same time period as the original 1977 movie with the Rebel Alliance hiring a group of bounty hunters to steal the plans for the first Death Star and will send Luke Skywalker on a course to becoming a Jedi Knight. The Milliennium Falcon is involved but Han Solo is not. The sources added that the rumor has, "a few strings of truth, but might not be the whole truth." Gareth Edwards (GODZILLA) will direct the spinoff movie which will premiere on December 16, 2016.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---Oscar Isaac signed to play villain Apocalypse.

WONDER WOMAN---Michelle MacLaren (GAME OF THRONES, THE WALKING DEAD) will direct the movie starring Gal Gadot.

DOCTOR WHO---the Christmas special is titled "Last Christmas" which added fuel to rumors that it will be the last episode for Jenna Coleman. Nick Frost (SHAUN OF THE DEAD) will play Santa Claus.

STEVE JOBS---Universal Studios picked up the biomovie starring Michael Fassbender that was shelved by Sony Pictures.

CASABLANCA---the piano from the movie was sold at auction for $3,413,000. The Cowardly Lion's costume from THE WIZARD OF OZ sold for $3,077,000. The costume was recovered by a junk dealer from an abandoned MGM building. The auction record for movie memorabilia is $4.6 million for the Aston Martin DB5 from GOLDFINGER.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR---Frank Grillo confirmed he's been asked to return for the sequel, “They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove….We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’”

CSI---original cast member George Eads is leaving the series after the current Season 15.

GALAXY QUEST---co-star Enrico Colantoni (VERONICA MARS) commented on fan hopes for a sequel to the 1999 STAR TREK parody, "I hope not. I think it's a great movie all by itself. It stands alone, and to make something up, just because we love those characters, and turn it into a sequel - then it becomes the awful sequel. [Laughs]...I think it's perfect just the way it is. It's standing the test of time. People are rediscovering it. New generations are discovering it again and again, and it's just perfect. Unless they can make it as good as the first one, which I don't know how [you could do that]."

DRAFTED---movie underway based on the comic book in which Earth is assisted by an alien race, The Benefactors, in defeating an invasion by another alien race.

I don't want to give the Jurassic World plot away, but...A family (with maybe a couple of horrible Hollywood kids) goes to Jurassic World for a day out, something goes wrong, some dinosaurs eat a some bit part players & a few extras, & after some ridiculously over choreographed action sequences...they escape. The end.

Damn, there was me saving my pocket money to go see that. (I kid)

The CGI for that water dinosaur looked dreadful, so fake looking. Best part of the trailer is the piano version of the theme.

I loved that Mosasaur scene. I love the Mosasaur. Its the motorcycle ride alongside (!) the Raptors that has me worried.

Otherwise I look forward to more humans screaming and dying amongst prehistoric beasts.

I feel almost the exact opposite. Disliked that silly water croc/dolphin act scene, but loved most of the stuff in the latter part of the trailer, including the motorcycle scene which looks like a great action setpiece.

Hollywood is so predictable. We got the most famous baddie for the first film, the T-Rex. What's better than one T-Rex? Two T-Rex's for the sequel. Now we need something bigger, here comes the Spinosaurus! And sorry maybe he's bigger and badder, but it looks goofy, like a Hanna Barbara idea for a monster.

Now they need to up the badassness, so here comes the genetically engineered Dinosaur that has the most terrifying traits of several prehistoric predators! I'm guessing it will have the head of T-Rex, horns of Triceritops, (Yeah I know not a predator but those horns come in handy) talons of a Raptor and webbed feet for swimming. Possibly Pterodactyl wings too so it can fly! Oh hell, it's gonna be Smog from The Hobbit!

"Oh hey fellas - there`s some food riding a bicycle!"

CHOMP

I like good action pieces too, but I prefer the ones that strive to make sense. I find it hard to conceive of a reason why these Raptors would *not* gobble up the rider, but having not seen the film I`ll try to keep an open mind.

They're probably running for their lives from a big baddie -- no time to stop and chew the meat.

I give Jurassic Park III an "A" as a fun silly "B" movie it was meant to be.

What are you talking about? I'm one of the only ones on this board who thinks THE LOST WORLD is better than JURASSIC PARK III. And that baffles me!confused

No, I think TLW is better than JP3 too, but I love the latter all the same. All films are great, IMO, but the first one is obviously a masterpiece.

Ha, each to his own. I prefer 3 to 2, in fact I think the Lost World is quite poor, although it has the best sequence out of the three in the T Rex attack on the camp at night (just shows you what the film could have been). But I don't really rate any of them, & think the first one is really overrated & hasn't aged too well , I can't even be bothered to watch it when it comes on the telly these days.

Me neither, but that's because I've seen it 40 times, I own it in all possible formats, it's one of my alltime favourite films and it has my alltime favourite score and I'm just madly in love with it in every possible way. So a random viewing on the telly doesn't do it justice!

Nope! After acrobatic children-kicking of Raptors, preceded by the absent-minded mission checking that allowed said acrobat to board the vehicles in the first place, its easy to enjoy the acrobatlessness of JP 3. Plus Spinosaurus Aegypticus... awesome visuals.

Quite right! You stick up for the films you love. There's plenty of movies that I feel the same way about.
