Can't see a recent thread for this so I'll create one. Over the last four or five days, in the evenings (UK time, which is eight hours ahead of California) the FSM website has been very slow to load, and returns the usual error message:
"An error has occurred on the site. We apologize for the inconvenience. The site administrator has automatically been notified by email about this error and we hope to have it rectified shortly."
It's getting so hard to read any of the forum threads. Is anyone else having the same trouble as me? If so, the site administrator will have an absolute ton of emails...
I think this has been an issue for several years now. I guess it could be fixed, but I think it requires money that Lukas has to pay out of his own pocket. That's the price to pay for having the most popular film music board on the internet.
But I'm too afraid to contact him or any of the powers-that-be about it. I think it's a somewhat sensitive issue. So I've decided to just tolerate it as it is.

I've never known it be as big an issue during the evenings - I have no problems in the morning and afternoon. Is the site is struggling to cope with the volume of traffic? Maybe it's increased because of the holiday releases from all the labels?

Ironically my above post isn't showing up in the 'new post' list on the main page.

I've had problems like this all day and night long, but there have been certain periods where it has run more smoothly. It seems rather random.
But for the most part, the board has been like this (with these exact errors, downtimes and slowness) for the last 4-5 years, at least.
In order to circumvent the post not getting to the top of the forum, I suggest that after clicking "Post Message", wait ten seconds or so--before getting the admin message-- and if it still hasn't sent--which is often the case--click a forum link like "Non-Film Score Discussion." I find that it works in getting your post and thread to the top of the forum.

It's working fine now that those who were constantly refreshing the site in prolonged anticipation of La-La Land's Black Friday announcements have gone back into their hole.

Perhaps they need to put a shilling in the meter.
I actually remember grandma doing that exact thing back in the 60s, maybe into the early 70s. Not sure if it was for gas or electricity. And there was an uncle that used to put coins in his tv!
You know, I remember a show from Granada TV called All Our Yesterdays......
Several hours ago, I couldn't access the site either.
ADDED: And yesterday, it was displaying times that were five hours different than the actual time. (At least on my screen/computer it was.) Glad to see things back to normal.
