Is 1994 considered early 90s? To me that says mid-90s but I also don't know who classifies what as what. In the Army Now would otherwise seem like a solid guess.

Simon Rhodes apparently told David Hocquet at James Horner Film Music a Horner project was in the works at Intrada:

He shared with us some interesting details of his long collaboration with James Horner, his transition from recording classical works to film music, his own musical affinities (English music, choral music). He even disclosed the title of the next album by James Horner that will be re-released by Intrada

Not that such a quote has to reference what we get in an hour, but it does leave open A Far Off Place, especially referencing a re-release as it does.

I'm always up for more Horner, but I sure hope an expanded Rocketeer comes forth soon. Won't be tonight, I know, but hopefully not so long after.

Meh. And so ends an insanely disappointing year from the labels, IMHO.

I thought it was a great year myself, and these two seem like great releases for Intrada to end on.

This was a year that had fewer big, hotly anticipated holy grails released from the labels, but then there's fewer and fewer of those left these days. Nonetheless, I'd say that I made about as many purchases as in previous years and there were a number of phenomenal releases that I'd never heard of before checking out the clips, so all around the year was still a winner. I'm looking forward to getting A Far Off Place!

"Speaking of miniseries from the 80's, I'd love to see Trevor Jones's The Last Days Of Pompeii released someday."

Good god yes. Doesn't sound like it's going to be this week, but that's a magnificent score which I'd love to hear in good sound quality (even good mono would be fine).

Here's a very nice piano tribute to Trevor Jones's effort :
