I'd definitely buy it. Easily in Conti's Top Ten. I'm betting few here have seen the film to put these cues in context. Conti definitely brings that film to life (along with a very nice Dreyfuss performance).
Wonderful little score by Conti and a great missing film from the 70's. I suspect the Leon Redbone vocal of "I Wanna Be Seduced" is still holding up it's DVD release as it's few network showings back in the day had the song replaced with something else much less effective. FIX ran for a short time as a streaming offering from NetFlix about a year back and the song had been restored.
I always liked the film and would definitely buy a release of this score. Hopefully rights to the great Leon Redbone song "I Want to Be Seduced" that was used to such great effect in the original version (and replaced with a much less suitable song in the VHS release) can be obtained for inclusion along with the fine Conti score. (I'll happily pass on F. Murray Abraham's rendition of "We Shall Not Be Moved" however.)
I don't know if the movie did any kind of decent business in theaters, but it had a solid cast and clever screenplay. Dreyfuss' ageing hippy private eye character is a little dated now but worked perfectly in the 70s when the film came out. I saw it on cable numerous times and have been hoping to see a DVD release but so far no go in the U. S. of A. I'd buy that also!
EDIT: Wow, I didn't realize that vinylscrubber had written virtually the same post earlier -- sorry, Mark, no plagiaristic intent I assure you! Great minds think alike, as they say! Sometimes I just jump in without checking thoroughly what others have posted.

The film is getting a Blu Ray release courtesy Twilight Time. With an isolated score, could a soundtrack release be far behind? (depending on if it's a music and effects track or not. No info as yet.)

I just listened to the isolated score, what a great score I love it! Good sound quality too. Thanks again to Mike Matessino who always does a great job with these isolated scores.
Great news, Henry. Hope a cd release comes at some point.
Now I hope you watch the movie. There's a great Richard Dreyfuss performance here. This is a film he made right after his one two punch of Close Encounters and The Goodbye Girl.
Looks a decent movie Dreyfuss was good at comedies, i like Tin Men with Mahoney & DeVito, Lost in Yonkers & Stakeout enjoyed others too I'm quite surprised TBF passed me by. Any Conti gets released today I'm ready for it.
